Donation of academic books in German and English to Chinese universities<\/h1>

On June 28, 2025, a ceremony was held for the donation of foreign-language academic literature from the Claus Roxin Academic Research Centre to the university library of the Northwest University of Political Science and Law. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Jiuli Fan; the ceremony was presided over by Vice President Prof. Dr. Haoliang Sun.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Claus Roxin Academic Research Centre, Prof. Dr. Yueting Liu presented the library with more than 2,500 foreign-language specialist books. In his address, he presented the Centre's achievements in promoting German-Chinese scientific exchange and expressed his hope to further deepen cooperation between Germany and China in the future, particularly in the areas of academic exchange and the promotion of young researchers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The University President, Prof. Dr. Jiuli Fan, sincerely thanked the Claus Roxin Academic Research Centre on behalf of the university for the generous donation. He emphasized that this book donation not only enriches the library's holdings and expands the thematic reading areas, but also makes an important contribution to the further development of legal education and the promotion of rule-of-law talent at the university. The university library should not only carefully preserve the donated works but also actively promote their announcement and use in order to fully realize their cultural and educational function.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The book donation ceremony was also attended by ten professors, experts, and scholars from various institutions, including the Chinese Society of Health Law, Peking University, Southwest Medical University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and Fujian Jiangxia University; they also addressed the attendees with words of welcome.<\/p>\n

On January 17, 2026, the ceremony for the book donation from the Claus Roxin Academic Research Centre to the library of the China University of Political Science and Law took place at the Haidian campus. The Vice President of the university, Prof. Dr. Yanhong Liu, was present.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Yueting Liu, Secretary General of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Claus Roxin Academic Research Centre, and Prof. Dr. Yong Zhu, Honorary President of the Institute of Legal History at the China University of Political Science and Law, participated as representatives of the donor and recipient sides, respectively.<\/p>\n

Nearly twenty experts, teachers, and students from the Claus Roxin Academic Research Centre, the Chinese Society of Health Law, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, China Foreign Affairs University, the National Health Commission of China, Starrise Law Firm Beijing, China National Petroleum Corporation, as well as the Faculty of Law and the Institute of Legal History of the China University of Political Science and Law attended the ceremony and the subsequent symposium.<\/p>\n

The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. Yuan Gu, Director of the Institute of Legal History at the China University of Political Science and Law, who also introduced the basic situation of the university library. In her address, Prof. Dr. Yanhong Liu expressed her sincere gratitude to the donors and warmly welcomed the guests in attendance. She stated that this donation represents a beautiful symbol of the deepening German-Chinese cooperation in the humanities and social sciences in recent years, and is also a vivid example of the ongoing development of an internationally leading university and the training of highly qualified rule-of-law professionals at the China University of Political Science and Law. The valuable books not only enriched the university's library holdings but would also provide teachers and students with significant resources to broaden their scientific horizons and deepen their professional research.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Yueting Liu presented the list of donated books on behalf of the donors, while Prof. Dr. Yong Zhu presented the donation certificate on behalf of the recipient side.<\/p>\n

The donation includes around 620 volumes from numerous specialist fields, including legal philosophy, constitutional law, criminal law, and medical law. It includes authoritative scientific monographs, dissertations, and other foreign-language specialist publications. The collection combines historical depth with current research perspectives and represents a significant resource for comparative legal research.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

In the subsequent symposium, speakers included Dr. Yushen Sha, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Health Law, Prof. Dr. Lili Jiang, Secretary General of the China (Beijing) Securities and Futures Arbitration Center, Prof. Dr. Jian Ma from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Peking University, Prof. Dr. Wenhua Wang from Beijing Foreign Studies University, Prof. Dr. Guannan Luo, Deputy Director of the Institute of Legal History at the China University of Political Science and Law, Mr. Yue Li, Head of the Legal and Corporate Reform Litigation Department of the China National Petroleum Corporation, Ms. Haiyan He, Director of the Department of Public Relations and Education of the National Center for Mental Health and Prevention of Mental Illness, Ms. Tong Wei, Director of the International Law Research Center of Starrise Law Firm Beijing, Prof. Dr. Jingkai Zhang and Prof. Dr. Xuanlin Liu from the China University of Political Science and Law, and Prof. Dr. Yang Jiao from the China Foreign Affairs University. Against the background of their respective research areas, the guests discussed German-Chinese scientific exchange, the training of internationally oriented rule-of-law professionals, and the expansion of foreign-language scientific resources. They emphasized that this book donation represents important support for the development of scientific resources at the library of the China University of Political Science and Law and is also an impressive expression of the deepened cooperation between Germany and China in the field of humanities and social sciences.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The multilingual specialist publications on a wide variety of topics would provide new impetus for legal education and research at the university and contribute to broadening the international horizons of teachers and students as well as strengthening the foundations of comparative law. In view of China's increasing international importance, the training of highly qualified rule-of-law professionals was of crucial importance \u2014 professionals who are both deeply rooted in Chinese legal culture and familiar with international rules.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The book donation has further strengthened the common consensus on deepened cooperation.
